While the California
ban on violent games was in the news today it only brought up a frightening realization of how pampered our children have become.
When I was a child I was shooting crack dealers in Narc and Smash TV at the local ice cream shop and beating up friends due to the shear difficulty of NES games like kid icarus and
ghouls n'goblins. Violence existed, it was normal, and it didn't damage nearly the number of people the press today would lead you to believe.
Even PBS has joined the fray giving less air time to old staples like Oscar the Grouch who is deemed scary and converting a sociopathic cookie addict into a veggiemonster. I fear for our future.
